COMMUNICATING A GLOBAL MESSAGE - NEXT STEP AT K 2013, DUSSELDORF
Kittery Point, ME (November 5, 2013) . . . Next Step Communications is back from another successful event, the K2013 show in Dusseldorf, Germany, which was held from October 16-23. Next Step supported five clients at this year’s K and produced everything from PR on all clients throughout the show to literature, booth graphics, video, and even complete booth design and construction.
Held every three years, K is the world’s largest event for the global plastics industry. This year’s show attracted almost 220,000 attendees over eight days. The next K fair will be held from October 19-26, 2016.
Greg Hannoosh, President of Next Step, said the show was as dynamic as ever and exceeded expectations. “Organizers had predicted 200,000 attendees, but almost 220,000 showed up,” he said. “This was a great sign that the global plastics industry is strong and growing. All of our clients were thrilled with the show.”
The latest in plastics technology and innovations were everywhere at K and Next Step’s clients were no exception. Next Step clients Kortec, Inc.; Gammaflux LP; Gloucester Engineering Company, Inc.; PSI-Polymer Systems, Inc.; and Wittmann Battenfeld, Inc. all introduced new products and technologies. Throughout the show, Greg and Mitch Hannoosh from Next Step organized at-booth meetings between their clients and leading industry reporters and editors. This resulted in valuable PR in print and online journals, which will continue over the next few months.
“We produced a large number of press kits for our clients for distribution to the press, but the real challenge at K is to get the press’ attention,” said Greg Hannoosh. “There are over 3,000 exhibitors at the show with news, and the press has 8 days to try to do their job. This is where our experience and contacts are invaluable.”
In addition to PR services, Next Step managed the turnkey design, construction and operation of the Kortec Inc. booth, which featured bold backlit graphics, video, new literature, and new product displays. For Gammaflux LP, Next Step produced booth graphics and also developed all-new sales and technical literature for the company.
“There is no underestimating this show,” said Greg Hannoosh. “It is an enormous undertaking for all exhibitors and attendees alike. As always we were pleased to be a part of it, to help our clients cut through the clutter, get noticed and better communicate their message.”
