NEXT STEP REPRESENTS NUMEROUS CLIENTS AT K 2007

West Newbury, MA (November 1, 2007) . . . Next Step Communications recently managed marketing duties for several clients at the K 2007 fair in Dusseldorf, Germany, the world’s largest event for the plastics industry.

Clients represented included Gammaflux LP, Kortec Inc., and Parkinson Technologies. In addition to directing PR activities for all of these companies, Next Step produced a comprehensive 8-page newsletter for Gammaflux and designed and produced all of the graphics for the Gammaflux stand.

“All three of these companies had great stories to tell, both product-wise and company-wise,” said Greg Hannoosh, President of Next Step, referring to PR efforts at the show. As a result, Next Step was successful in arranging for numerous at-stand interviews between leading industry editors and company representatives, which resulted in excellent press coverage.

Pre-show PR managed by Next Step led to a cover story in the November issue of Plastics in Packaging magazine (UK) on Kortec, which was distributed at the show. “Kortec had some exciting news, that they were awarded the exclusive license worldwide from Ball Corporation for producing multi-layer OPP containers for food products,” said Hannoosh. “This was an ideal story for Plastics in Packaging, and the fact that it was a cover story being distributed at the show was an added bonus.”

Another PR highlight involved Parkinson Technologies, a new Next Step client. The Woonsocket, Rhode Island-based manufacturer of biaxial sheet production lines, winders and related equipment found out during the show that they had received approval from a customer to promote a huge order for what would be the highest-output BOPS sheet production line in China. “After meeting with Pete Termyn, Parkinson’s President and CEO and Jill DaPonte, Parkinson’s Marketing Specialist, we got to work,” said Hannoosh. “In less than a few hours we wrote and distributed an official release at the show, and arranged for at-stand interviews with some of the top editors.” This resulted in feature stories in the K show daily, produced by Modern Plastics Worldwide, and Plastics News online and print coverage, amongst others.

The K fair, held every three years, featured 3,130 exhibitors and 242,000 attendees, both records.
