TWO NEXT STEP CLIENTS APPEAR ON COVER OF PLASTICS IN PACKAGING MAGAZINE

West Newbury, MA (April 15, 2008) . . . Plastics in Packaging magazine, a monthly publication published in the UK, has featured two cover stories in the past six months on Next Step clients. The cover stories on Kortec, Inc. (November 2007) and Gammaflux LP (April 2008) came about because of Next Step’s K 2007 PR efforts.

Most recently, the April 2008 issue of the magazine features a cover story titled ‘Control Room’, referencing an article on the inside written by Mike Brostedt, Gammaflux Director of Market Development, on the importance of hot runner temperature control of individual nozzles in PET perform molds.

“The idea for this article came about in an at-stand interview between Mike and Stephen Pacitti, the editor of Plastics in Packaging,” said Greg Hannoosh, President of Next Step. “We arranged the interview to update Stephen on recent developments at Gammaflux, and when this topic came up, Stephen thought it would be an excellent idea for a future issue of the magazine.”

Hannoosh worked with Brostedt to produce the article and graphics that appeared in the magazine. “It’s another example of the importance of doing PR at a trade show,” said Hannoosh. “If we hadn’t set up the interview, this cover story would not have happened.”

The November 2007 issue of Plastics in Packaging, which was distributed on-site at K 2007 and featured a cover story on Kortec, Inc. titled “The Next Big Thing – Move over glass. Is it time for the OPP revolution?”, detailed Kortec’s new exclusive license from Ball Corporation to produce multi-layer OPP food containers worldwide. “This was the result of pre-show PR that we did on behalf of Kortec,” said Hannoosh. “Our pre-show release, sent out 2 months before the show, mentioned the new Kortec deal and promised more information at the show. Plastics in Packaging wanted the story in time for their at-show issue, so we worked with them to help make it happen.”
