GEARING UP FOR NPE 2009

West Newbury, MA (March 20, 2009) . . . Next Step Communications is gearing up for NPE 2009 by managing booth design and construction, literature, public relations and other marketing efforts for several companies.

NPE 2009 will be held at Chicago’s McCormick Place from June 22-26. The show, held every three years, is the largest North American event in the plastics industry. This year’s NPE is coming at a time when the industry is reeling from an almost unprecedented weakening of the global economy.

“It’s an interesting time in the industry, that’s for sure,” said Greg Hannoosh, President of Next Step. “No one is sure what to expect at this year’s NPE. Some companies have pulled out of the show, and others have scaled back on their displays. But as they say, the show must go on, and I’m sure it will still be an important event – in some ways, more than ever.”

Next Step is managing the entire show for Kortec, Inc. including the design and construction of the company’s booth, PR, and other promotions. Kortec is exhibiting in Booth 18019, a 35’ x 45’ island space in McCormick Place South, the company’s largest-ever display at NPE. “Kortec has had strong demand for their systems for producing multilayer containers, a growing sector in the packaging industry,” said Hannoosh. “They are showing off several new technology developments for food and beverage containers at this year’s NPE.”

Next Step is also working with ENTEK Extruders (Booth 71063, McCormick Place North) on their booth design and is handling PR, direct mail, and other efforts for the Oregon-based twin-screw extruder manufacturer. In addition, Next Step is managing PR efforts and developing booth graphics for Parkinson Technologies (Booth 75027, McCormick Place North) and managing PR efforts for PSI-Polymer Systems Inc. (Booth 67069, McCormick Place North).

Pre-show PR efforts have already begun for NPE, said Hannoosh. “We have generated pre-show press releases for all of these companies with news on what they plan to exhibit at NPE,” he said. Hannoosh noted that he will be on-site for the entire NPE show and will manage at-show PR efforts for all of these clients as well.
