NEXT STEP PRESIDENT GREG HANNOOSH TO SPEAK AT SPI'S BUSINESS OF PLASTICS CONFERENCE AT NPE 2009

West Newbury, MA (April 17, 2009) . . . Greg Hannoosh, President of Next Step Communications, will do a presentation at the Society of Plastics Industry’s (SPI) ‘Business of Plastics’ conference at NPE 2009.

The presentation, titled ‘Spreading The Word – The Basics for Promoting Your Company’ will take place Wednesday, June 24th at 3 p.m. at McCormick Place in Chicago. NPE 2009 is being held from June 22-26 at McCormick Place.

The ‘Business of Plastics’ educational track is a new program from SPI, which is using NPE 2009 as its launch. The program will feature presentations from numerous industry leaders on such topics as marketing, best business practices, and global economic trends.

“I am excited about this opportunity,” said Hannoosh. “It’s a chance to pass on some of my knowledge of marketing communications to companies in the plastics industry, an industry I’ve been a part of for 23 years.”

“The timing for this program is perfect,” Hannoosh continued. “At a time when many in the plastics industry are struggling and the economy isn’t good, it’s important to remind companies not to forget the importance of promoting themselves.”

Many companies in plastics have slashed their advertising and promotion budgets, said Hannoosh. “That’s understandable in this economy,” he said. “But how far do you cut? You still need to exercise the basics of promotion to make sure you’re generating leads for your sales force, and to keep your company image from suffering. There are ways to do this on a limited budget. Those companies that manage to keep their name out there are the ones that will survive and succeed, and be even stronger when the economy does improve.”

The basics of marketing communications will be covered in the presentation, including various forms of advertising, public relations, direct mail, literature, trade shows, and internet/multimedia. Strategies for promoting your company on a limited budget will be discussed and the presentation will be catered specifically for companies in the plastics industry.
